About Us
Welcome to the new Open Source Central (OSC) website. The OSC website has been set up to provide a community hub for everything Open Source. Over the coming months it will evolve and grow to become an even more valuable resource to the Open Source community providing information on User Groups, the Open Source Journal (OSJ) and Aggregated Blogs from the Open Source world.
Open Source Journal (OSJ)
The first issue of the Open Source Journal is a start of a long journey towards open-access peer-reviewed journal. Our vision is that we will receive articles on any open source topic. Over time, we will build a pool of reviewers who will give feedback on all articles we receive. The best articles will be immediately available online, and the best of the best articles will be published in the printed edition of the journal.
Why is Open Source Journal different? We believe that by having an open editorial & review process and by having a printed edition, the articles will be of the best possible quality.
We have managed to secure sponsorship for the printing work, all that remains is to get the authors. We have a lot of JEE VIPs on the editorial board; to name drop, we have Rob Harrop (co-founder of SpringSource), Russ Miles (MD of OpenCredo), Dave Syer (senior consultant at SpringSource), Jan Machacek (technical director of Cake Solutions), Aleksa Vukotic (senior developer at Cake Solutions), Andrew Chalkley (RIA UK lead) and many others. As you can see, the editors are experienced authors, speakers and open source enthusiasts.
Open Source Central User Group (OSCUG)
This will be the new website for the Spring User group North West which in 2010 is widening its appeal to include all open source Technologies. This section of the OSC website will evolve with video podcasts of events and details of any offers available to the group members

The Open Source Central website will be a valuable resource to all open source developers beginning with aggregations from the best open source blogs in the open source world. We will also begin to add additional content as it become available including offers only available to Open Source Central website readers.
